Quality, analysis and regulation

How to read a certificate of analysis, tell a commercial name apart from a chemical identity, and keep up with evolving regulation.

A useful certificate of analysis must match the batch being sold and state, at minimum, the identity of the cannabinoids tested for, their concentrations, the method, the detection limits and the analysis date. Depending on the product, it may also cover residual solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, microbiological contaminants and mycotoxins.

A range name helps you recognise a product, and that's a good thing: Félozine, H2, H3, KX60, VMAC or CBG9 denote precise compositions, which the product sheet details. The rule we set ourselves is simple: the newer a name, the clearer the accompanying sheet must be - structure, origin, concentration, status.

A product's status depends on its composition, its origin, its presentation and its category of use. The rules that apply to a plant, a foodstuff, a cosmetic, an inhaled product or a medicine are not identical.
